1. When will photos and DVDs of the 2008 UCA West Coast Nationals (Kodak Theater) be available to view online?

2. How can parents order now?

All the information is available. Parents who didn’t order at the event will be able to order now online. This link will take you through the ordering process as it was presented at the event.The only difference will be that rountines will not be available to preview prior to ordering online. Pictures, posters, and BigPics will be available to preview before ordering.

3. How can I buy a team photo?

Team photos, both action and still shots, are available. You can go through the ordering process, look at the pictures of your team, and select the size and quantity you would like to order.

4. How much do the products (DVDs, Pictures, Posters, and BigPics) cost?

Personalized DVDs are Free! There are three shipping options for the Free DVDs:

1) Shipped directly to your home in about 2 weeks. The shipping fee is only $10.

2) Shipped to your coach in about 8 weeks. This is free. If you want to personalize your own DVD (participants name on the actual DVD and DVD Menu plus choice of up to 10 routines), you will need to go through the ordering process individually. It is not the coaches sole responsibility to order all the personalized DVDs for their team members. It will, however, be up to the coach to get all participants their Free DVD once they’ve been shipped with this option.

3) Shipped to your coach in about 8-10 weeks. If participants do not do anything, a generic version of your team DVD will be shipped to you in about 8-10 weeks. By “generic” we mean only your team’s routines (no more than 10).

5. What exactly is on the free DVD?

Highlight Sports filmed every routine at the 2008 West Coach Nationals. All participants and coaches can put up to 10 routines of their choice on the free DVD. These routines can be their own, their friends, or other routines of their choice. Pictures are not included on the DVD.

There are three shipping options for the Free DVDs:

The reason we wait 8-10 weeks to ship to the coach is because we want to give everyone about 4-6 weeks to personalize their DVD online. After 4-6 weeks, we will begin processing all the “ship-to-coach” orders and they will be shipped in the order they were received.

6. Where do we go to see the pictures?

All the information will be available at www.HighlightSports.com by no later than Monday of next week (March 10th). Parents who didn’t order at the event will be able to go to a link provided at the home page of www.HighlightSports.com. This link will take you through the ordering process as it was presented at the event.

Team photos, both action and still shots, will be available shortly. You will be able to go through the ordering process, look at the pictures of your team, and select the size and quantity you would like to order.

Action shots are complimentary and have shipping costs that start at $6/picture based on size.

Still shots are not complimentary and start at $15/picture* based on size.

7. When will the UDA dance portion of the West Coast Nationals be available?

All products (DVDs and Photography) will be available at www.HighlightSports.com by no later than Monday of next week (March 10th). This is for the cheer portion of the competition and the dance portion as well.

8. How many routines can I get on my Free DVD?

All participants and coaches can put up to 10 routines of their choice on the free DVD. These routines can be their own, their friends, or other routines of their choice. Pictures are not included on the DVD.

9. What if I can’t find my team?

The best news is that we didn’t leave your team out.  We got footage and pictures of everyone.  There were a few teams that didn’t have time to take their still shots back stage; however, we gave them options to come back later if they wanted to.

To find your team there are a few options:

1) Select all the teams that have your team name on them. Some of the Levels changed last minute which means your team may be listed as Level 8 and is really a Level 2 team.

2) Check other teams that were in your division – teams you competed against.  This is not likely, but once in a while two teams get put in the same folder by accident.

As of today, March 7th, teams should be up to date based on the information we have been given.

UCA West Coast Nationals

Highlight Sports is excited to get back to the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, home of the Academy Awards, for the UCA West Coast Nationals. We will be providing a variety of products at this year’s event:

  • Custom DVDs for ALL participants: that’s right, every participant at this event gets a completely customized DVD with routines of their choice. They can also personalize the DVD by printing their name on the front. Special thanks to our sponsors for their help. In order to get the DVDs, each participant needs to get to our booth to customize their DVD. The DVDs will be mailed to coaches in 8-10 weeks or to participants’ homes in 2 weeks for a small shipping and handling fee.
  • Action, Team and Individual Photographs: Studio, still-shot photographs will be taken prior to performance for all teams. Action shots will be taken while participants perform on stage. Pictures will be complimentary plus shipping and handling.
  • Posters and BigPics: In addition to standard picture sizes, Highlight Sports will now be offering posters and BigPics (2 foot, 4 foot and 6 foot life size posters and photo murals). These have been created based on request and are a great way to advertise your team, show off to your friends and creatively preserve your memories.
  • Team Highlight Videos: Special “at-event pricing” will be offered to teams that are interested in Year End Videos, Photo Highlight Videos and “Scrapbook Style” Highlight Videos.

We will be promoting specific businesses at this event that have made it possible to offer such high quality products at such low prices. Please support them and let them know we sent you to their stores.

2008 UCA Rocky Mountain Challenge in Utah

Hello everyone who attended the Rocky Mountain Challenge at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, Utah. It was a fun-filled Saturday – congratulations on a great showing at the competition.

Here are a few answers to questions we are receiving:

  1. All action photography taken at the event will be viewable at www.HighlightSports.com by Wednesday or Thursday of this upcoming week. Your video will not be viewable on the website but you will be able to order it on the site.
  2. If you pre-paid for your order and need to chose pictures, we will be contacting you to get the correct information before shipping your order.
  3. We had many teams talk to us about doing a professional photography sitting in order to capture pictures for BigPics, Posters and gifts for family and friends. If your team is interested in setting up a specific “photo day”, contact Marketing Director Nate Moller at nate @ highlightsports.com (no spaces in the email), to schedule a time.

UCA West Coast Nationals Officially Scheduled

As many of you know, Highlight Sports has been working with the UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) for the last 5 years at the West Coast National Cheerleading Championships. For the last two years we’ve been at the world renown Kodak Theater in Hollywood which we really have enjoyed.

We just received word that the UCA West Coast National Cheerleading Championships will be held on March 1st and 2nd, 2008. Here’s some of the information you’ll need to know:

Please note that this is for coaches only!

  • Full payment must be received in the Memphis office no later than February 15, 2008!
  • Early Registration: Friday, February 29th, 2008:

Time: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Registration will be held @ the Kodak Theatre—go to box office
Registration Times: Saturday, March 1, 2008:
Time: All Day
Registration will be located @ the Kodak Theater. Please follow directional signs to Orange Court

  • You must register a minimum of 45 minutes PRIOR to your assigned Warm Up time.
  • Please bring the following items to registration/check in:

1. Original Signed Medical Release forms for each participant. Additional forms may be printed at www.varsity.com.
2. Articles of Understanding – Signed by the advisor/coach and captain. Please keep a copy for your records.
Warm Up/Rehearsal:

  • Please report (all athletes/coaches) to the rehearsal area at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned rehearsal time
  • Please follow direction signs that will lead to the warm up/rehearsal area located in Orange Court
  • To ensure the event is run in a timely manner, please be aware of designated warm up times

Team Guidelines:

  • Absolutely no practicing, dancing, etc in the Hollywood/Highland Center/Kodak Theatre/Renaissance Hotel

Competition Time: Note: These times are tentative and are subject to change.

  • All Dance Teams: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2008
  • School/Youth Rec. Cheer Teams: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2008
  • All Stars CHEER Teams: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Sunday, March 2, 2008

Coaches Meeting:

  • There will be no coaches meeting at the event, however competition information will be available at check-in. Any questions can be answered by the Tournament Director or the championship information booth
  • Please note the Coaches Hospitality will be available throughout the competition in the George Eastman room located inside lobby,

Coaches wristband is required for entry—look for exact times in your coaches packet.
Order of Competition:

  • The order of competition, including warm up time, will be available Monday, February 25, 2008 at www.varsity.com
  • No changes will be made to the order of competition after Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Spectators:

  • $13.00 One Day Adult Pass – $24.00 Two Day Adult Pass
  • $8.00 One Day Children 5 – 12 Pass – $15 Two Day Children 5 – 12 Pass
  • Ages 4 and under are free, BUT must acquire a children’s pass at the box office
  • Doors will open to the Public 30 minutes prior to event start time
  • Tickets are available 1 week prior to the Kodak Theatre Box office or can be purchased at www.ticketmasters.com

Parking: Parking for Kodak Theatre is at the Hollywood & Highland Center structure. Enter on Highland Avenue next to the
Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, north of Hollywood Blvd. Rates are posted. Please note that, although Kodak Theatre is
unable to validate parking, the retail and dining establishments within the complex offer discount validation.
Hotel: Numerous hotels are available please visit www.varsity.com for special rates. Space is limited!
Music : Please bring two back-up copies of your music. CD’s Only!
Awards: Award ceremonies will take place throughout the competition. Please refer to the competition schedule for approximate times
Concessions: Food can be purchased at the Kodak Theater and Hollywood/Highland Center
Merchandise: Merchandise will be sold at the event
Airport shuttle:

  • Shuttle service from LAX/Burbank airport is available, please contact special event services @ 1(800)738-6739 for shuttle costs
  • Super Shuttle Blue Vans for $15 a person each way.

Universal Studios: Tickets can be purchased on the enclosed ticket form. The metro red line runs directly from the Kodak Theatre to Universal Studios,
a 5 minute ride for $1.25 each direction or an unlimited pass for $3. See enclosed ticket form
